So, friends and interest holders, it has been 5 years since we set up Antenna Foundation Nepal in 2002 as a small group of radio production professionals and journalists and took our first steps on the journey towards our vision of a New Nepal.
In that vision all people would enjoy full human rights and participate fully in their own development and that of the country. |
At Antenna we feel passionately that inclusive social, cultural and economic change is necessary for our country to develop and truly modernise. As media specialists we can do something positive to make that happen. And we do!
Our part, as radio producers in stimulating change is clear. Our well designed and produced programmes speak directly to people about real issues; issues affecting them. We meet them in their homes, their fields, whilst traveling.
We can discuss and get to the heart of the matter closely creating an intimate link with our audience through our programmes. We have a good penetration into urban and rural communities through our wide FM distribution network. Moreover, our innovative Doko Radio enjoys access to even the most remote areas.
We’ve achieved a lot and certainly learnt a lot in the last 5 years. Our initiative has paid off and we are now in a stronger position to face the challenges and opportunities of achieving our vision. Our whole team still has much to do and an ambitious 5 year strategic plan is ahead. The overall aim over the next 5 years is to facilitate the social changes needed for new Nepal. We will also be building our internal capacity to help us deliver this more effectively.
Yours truly,
Madhu Acharya
